Funded Counselling Places

Our funded counselling places are supported by grants and donations and are for people who are unable to contribute towards the cost of counselling. If a funded place is available, you can receive up to 10 individual counselling sessions at no cost to you.

The number of places we can offer depends on the funding available, so we cannot guarantee that a funded place will be available when you contact us.

Who is this counselling for?

Funded places are for people who live or work in Camden, Islington, the City of London or Westminster and are seeking counselling following a bereavement or significant loss.

If you cannot afford to contribute towards counselling, please still get in touch. We can discuss whether a funded place is available and whether our service may be appropriate for you.

What is offered?

You can receive up to 10 individual counselling sessions. Your sessions give you time to explore your bereavement or significant loss, as well as other experiences, relationships or changes in your life that may be connected with it.

You do not need to know before you start exactly what you want to talk about.

What does it cost?

There is no cost to you for counselling provided through a funded place. The cost of these sessions is met through grants and donations to CCIWBS.

How do I get referred?

Funded counselling places are available through self-referral only. You will need to contact CCIWBS yourself rather than being referred by a GP or another professional. When you refer yourself, let us know that you are unable to contribute towards counselling and would like to be considered for a funded place.

What happens after I refer myself?

We review every self-referral and, where appropriate, will arrange an assessment. This gives us an opportunity to understand what has brought you to counselling, consider whether our service is appropriate for you and answer any questions you have.

We will also check whether a funded place is available. If we can offer you a place, we will explain the next steps and match you with a counsellor when a suitable space becomes available.
